So you just bought a DMCA Ignore hosting plan and they guarantee you that they will stand behind it 100% and take down your content or website, right? Or is that wrong?
To be a 100% sure if they will or not, you have to read their TOS (Terms of Service or AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) very very very carefully. Let me explain why.
A lot of hosts say we won’t take down your website if you don’t break the following rules. Usually stated as no child porn, no hacking, no spamming, no illegal activity such as stealing/selling credit card info, personal info and so on.
BUT…You will see in their AUP or TOS that that do NOT allow copyrighted material without written consent from the copyright holder, they don’t allow pirated/nulled/gpl software, etc.
Ok here is where the lie comes in because DMCA (Digital Millennium COPYRIGHT Act) . Note the word in Bold and Italics? How can you be DMCA Ignore if you do NOT allow copyrighted material?
The things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
